REPORTS TO :  Chief Supply Chain Development Officer

Job Description

Position Overview:

We seek a dynamic Associate Manager– Business Development to lead franchisee sales, manage the franchisee pipeline, and oversee the project management of new franchisee operations until they achieve break-even. This role demands strong sales acumen, project management expertise, and the ability to foster meaningful partnerships with franchisees and stakeholders.

Job Description/Key Responsibilities:

1. Franchisee Sales and Pipeline Management

  • Develop and execute strategies to identify and onboard new franchisee partners.

  • Build a robust franchisee sales funnel by identifying potential markets, conducting market research, and engaging with prospects.

  • Present Plastics For Change’s franchisee model, including financial benefits, operational support, and social impact objectives to prospective partners.

  • Negotiate agreements and close franchisee deals in alignment with organisational objectives.

2. Franchisee Operations Project Management

  • Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for franchisee partners post-sign-off, ensuring seamless handover to operations.

  • Develop and monitor collaborative action plans, timelines, and budgets for each franchisee project.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to franchisees in operational setup, including infrastructure, staffing, and compliance requirements.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for franchisees, offering continuous support until the business achieves break-even.

3. Performance Monitoring and Support

  • Track franchisee performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.

  • Assist franchisees in meeting operational, financial, and certification requirements, including WFTO and OBP certification.

  • Facilitate training sessions for franchisee partners to align them with Plastics For Change’s ethical and sustainability standards.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, marketing, and social additionality, to ensure franchisees are supported across verticals.

  • Foster long-term relationships with franchisee partners to drive growth and alignment with organizational goals.

5. Reporting and Strategic Input

  • Provide regular updates on franchisee sales, operational progress, and challenges to leadership.

  • Contribute to the strategic growth of the franchisee program by identifying new opportunities and process improvements.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sustainability, or a related field. MBA preferred.

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in business development, franchisee sales, and project management.

  • Experience in managing end-to-end projects and achieving operational goals.

  • Skills: Strong sales and negotiation skills with a proven ability to close deals.

  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building strong relationships with franchisee partners and stakeholders.

  • Analytical mindset with a focus on performance tracking and continuous improvement.

  • Other: Familiarity with sustainability, ethical sourcing, or plastics recycling sectors is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel extensively for franchisee development and operational support.

  • Language Skills: Fluency in the local language (read, write, speak), English (read, write, speak), and Hindi (read and speak) is preferred.
