SKILL DEVELOPMENT

Informal waste workers face various barriers to accessing and participating in skills and lifelong learning opportunities. An effective approach we take for catalysing skill-building is providing training to individuals from the waste picker community. They are trained in various fields such as technical, vocational, hospitality and IT.

We design training programs offering a range of training courses catering to the needs of the market and the beneficiary. The courses have been designed to impart the skills and knowledge in the trades so as to prepare the trainees for the employment as skilled workers in the world of work or to go for self-employment. This skill building program will improve employment and earnings for the participants.
This program will improve the profitability of their current activities and begin a shift towards diversified livelihoods, such as micro-manufacturing products.
