JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior. Associate- The Supply Partner Relationship role at Plastics For Change in Mysore emphasises collaboration with the Sourcng, Franchises, Marketplace and Social Additionality. The main duties involve ethically sourcing plastic from informal suppliers, transitioning them into the formal sector, and ensuring a smooth production process at the Franchises In Karnataka.

DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sourcing & Compliance:

  1. Supplier Engagement: Build relationships and network with informal sector plastic suppliers, including DWCCs, waste collectors, scrap shops, bulk generators, and wholesalers, to ethically source high-quality plastics.

  2. Transitioning Stakeholders: Assist in transitioning these suppliers from informal to formal operations, enrolling and managing them on the Plastics For Change technology platform for buy-sell transactions.

  3. Supply Chain Management: Collaborate with Franchises and other bale material suppliers to ensure consistent and reliable plastic sourcing through the Marketplace.

  4. Fair Trade & Compliance: Implement and oversee fair trade standards and statutory compliance at the Franchise level, ensuring adherence to ethical practices and regulatory requirements.

  5. Process Improvement: Continuously work on improving processes and productivity to optimise sourcing, production, and overall operational efficiency.

Production Oversight:

  1. Production Management: Implement production Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) and oversee operational efficiency at the Franchise level to achieve production targets and ensure smooth operations.

  2. Inventory Management: Assist Franchise partners in managing production data and inventory using the Plastics For Change technology platform, with regular reporting to track performance and stock levels.

  3. Work Environment & Safety: Promote a safe, clean, and sustainable workplace by implementing ESG standards, conducting capacity-building initiatives, and ensuring adherence to safety and compliance standards across operations.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Problem-Solving: Analyze data to identify and address personnel and operational issues, recommending practical solutions to improve performance.

  2. Product Quality: Uphold organizational standards to ensure high-quality output in all production processes.

  3. Process Efficiency: Optimize the use of technology, machinery, and equipment to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste.

  4. Best Practices: Implement industry best practices, SOPs, and compliance methodologies to ensure smooth and efficient operations across all levels.

The role offers flexibility, requiring the candidate to undertake any other necessary tasks within their skill set for the company’s overall functioning.

Experience and Qualifications Required:

  1. Education & Experience: Graduate with 3+ years of fieldwork experience, particularly in plastics recycling or waste management or informal sector or direct field sales.

  2. Knowledge & Expertise: Strong understanding of social and environmental concepts, with experience in fair trade and compliance management.

  3. Supplier Relations & Negotiation: Proven ability to negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and handle price negotiations.

  4. Relevant Field Experience: Prior experience in Urban or Rural Development, Environment, Community Relations/Interventions/Engagement, Plastic Recycling, or Waste Management is beneficial.

  5. Fair Trade Practices: Experience in fair trade or fair labour practices is an added advantage.

  6. Language Skills: Fluency in the local language (read, write, speak), English (read, write, speak), and Hindi (read and speak) is preferred.

    CTC/Compensation:

    Competitive as per industry standards, including performance bonus, medical insurance, and a fixed travel allowance.
